System Requirements
The Macrium SiteManager Platform can be installed on all Windows operating systems from Windows 7 or Server 2008R2 or later.
SHA256 Driver Hashing
The SiteManager Platform uses driver components that require SHA-2 driver hashing. The SiteManager Platform installer will fail on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 unless an appropriate hotfix is installed See this Microsoft article for more detail. Later versions of Windows support SHA-2 hashing natively and do not require any hotfixes.
The SiteBackup Agent can run on any Windows operating system Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 or above. The drivers that require SHA256 driver hashing will not be installed on systems that do not support SHA256 driver hashing, meaning the SiteBackup Agent does not have the same requirement mentioned above.
Macrium SiteDeploy can deploy Windows operating systems Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 or above.

Description
|
---|---|
Install Macrium Image Guardian |
If selected, the Macrium Image Guardian driver and configuration application will be installed. This can be used to provide additional anti-malware and anti-ransomware protection for SiteManager backup files and SiteDeploy golden images. |
Install viBoot |
If selected, Macrium viBoot will be installed on the server, to allow virtual machines to be created from backup images directly. This requires either Microsoft Hyper-V or VirtualBox to be installed. Macrium viBoot can be used with images created by SiteBackup and golden images created by SiteDeploy. |
Launch Site Manager now | If selected, the default web browser will be launched with the SiteManager Platform interface after 'Finish' is pressed. |
The First Run Wizard
Once installed, use a local web browser to connect to the running server on the default port 2904 ( http://localhost:2904 ). For security reasons, after initial installation, the web interface is restricted to access from localhost only until the first run wizard has been completed:
On the first page of the first run wizard, you will be prompted to select the product that you want to activate:
If a license key has already been purchased for the selected product, this can be entered on the second page of the wizard. Alternatively, a trial can be immediately activated for the selected product, trials can also be activated at a later time on the 'Licenses' page. Read more about activating a trial here.
On the final page of the wizard, you will be prompted to select a security level to complete the security configuration:
The recommended security level is 'Simple Setup' for internal and test installations and 'Secure Setup' for production environments. 'Import Setup File' may also be chosen to import a saved configuration from another SiteManager Platform.
After selecting your security configuration SiteManager Platform will immediately restart.
If 'Secure Setup' is chosen, SiteManager Platform will initially use an internal self-signed HTTPS certificate. This, along with other protocol and security settings, may be changed on the 'Security' page of the SiteManager Platform 'Settings'. While the self-signed certificate is in use, you may see the following message in the browser:
