Overview

Macrium SiteManager Platform powers two of Macrium's centrally managed solutions: Macrium SiteDeploy and Macrium SiteBackup. By default, neither of these products will be active when SiteManager Platform is installed; however, a 30-day trial can be started for each of these products, enabling the solution to be tested before purchase. These trials can be activated during the first time setup of SiteManager platform during the first run wizard or at a later time on the 'Licenses' page of SiteManager Platform.

Activating a Trial during First-Time Setup

If SiteManager Platform is being used for the first time, post-installation, the first run wizard will be displayed.

On the first page of the wizard, a product can be selected to activate immediately:

On the second page of the wizard, licensing options are displayed.

SiteBackup

If SiteBackup was selected on the first page of the wizard, the following options will be displayed:

Option Description
Start trial Selecting this option and then clicking 'Activate' trial will immediately create two 30-day trial SiteBackup Seat licenses, one for 5 Workstations and one for 1 Server. More information about SiteBackup Seats can be found here.
Add key If a SiteBackup Seat license has already been purchased, it can be entered here.
Add licenses later This option will enable the SiteManager Platform to be installed without activating trial licenses or adding an already purchased license. This ensures that SiteManager Platform can be used in the case where it is managing computers with Standalone Macrium Reflect X installed.

SiteDeploy

If SiteDeploy is selected on the first page of the wizard, the following options will be displayed:

Option Description
Start trial Selecting this option and then clicking 'Activate' trial will immediately start a 30-day trial endpoint license that includes 5 endpoints. This enables unlimited deployments to 5 unique endpoints for testing purposes.
Add Key If a SiteDeploy license has already been purchased, it can be entered here.

Existing SiteManager Platform Installations

For existing SiteManager Platform installations, trials for Macrium SiteBackup and SiteDeploy can be started within the SiteManager Platform user interface.

SiteBackup

If SiteBackup has not been enabled, either in the first-time setup wizard or the 'Licenses' page of the SiteManager Platform, the following message will be displayed when 'Backups' or 'Restore' is selected under the 'SiteBackup' heading:

Selecting 'Activate Trial' will immediately create two 30-day trial SiteBackup Seat licenses, one for 5 Workstations and one for 1 Server. More information about SiteBackup Seats can be found here.

The same trial can be started on the 'Summary' tab under the 'SiteBackup' section of the 'Licenses' page:

SiteDeploy

If SiteDeploy has not been enabled, either in the first-time setup wizard or the 'Licenses' page of the SiteManager Platform, the following message will be displayed when 'Deployment' is selected under the 'SiteDeploy' heading:

Selecting 'Activate Trial' will immediately create a 30-day SiteDeploy Endpoint license trial. This trial enables unlimited deployments to 5 endpoints for a 30-day period.

The same trial can be started on the 'Summary' tab under the 'SiteDeploy' section of the 'Licenses' page:

Viewing Trial Status

Once a trial has been started using one of the methods described above, the progress of the trial (including usage and expiry date) can be viewed in the SiteManager Platform.

SiteBackup

The SiteBackup trial keys can be viewed on the 'SiteBackup Keys' tab on the 'Licenses' page:

The license table shows the expiry of the trial licenses and the number of seats associated with them. SiteBackup Seat licenses and trial extension keys can be added using the 'Add License' button:

SiteDeploy

The SiteDeploy trial status can be viewed on the 'Summary' tab of the 'Licenses' page under the 'SiteDeploy' heading:

A more detailed log of the deployments, and endpoints that have been deployed to, can be found in the 'Deployment Logs' tab of SiteDeploy:

'Expiry Date' shows when the trial will expire. 'Add License' can be used to enter a SiteDeploy license or trial extension.
