Network Logon
Windows contains a Network Credentials cache that enables network authentication details (User name and password) to be saved and re-used to log on automatically. However, scheduled tasks are run in Windows 'batch mode' and do not have access to saved credentials. Because of this, you must enter network logon details in the Macrium Reflect defaults to enable scheduled tasks to access and write to password-protected network shares.
The table on this page displays all the network logon credentials that have been specified. This will be empty the first time the page is accessed:
Option | Description |
Add | This will add a network logon credential for a new network location. |
Edit | This will edit the credentials and path to an existing network location. The 'Default' credential can be configured with credentials that will be used to access all shares that are not explicitly configured in the table. |
Delete | This will remove a network logon credential. |
Enable Anonymous logon for all share connection attempts | When enabled, Macrium Reflect will also attempt to logon to disconnected shares with the username 'Anonymous' and no password. This should only be used when accessing older Linux-based shares that allow anonymous authentication. |
Selecting the 'Add' or 'Edit' options will display the following window where the path, username, and password can be specified:
Option | Description |
\\Server\Share | The UNC path to the root of the network share should be entered here. Do not enter any sub-folders. |
Username | Enter the name of the authenticated user account that has access to the share. |
Password | Enter the password for the user account specified above. |
Test |
When selected, the credentials specified will be used to authenticate against the share. The result of the connection attempt will then be displayed: |
