SiteBackup Agent Migration
SiteBackup Agents initiate the connection to the SiteBackup server which manages them. To move a SiteBackup Agent to a new server, the connection settings in the agent can be changed using the Agent Configuration Tool described here, or performed using the 'Migrate Agents' option in the SiteManager Platform settings:
SiteBackup automates the process of migrating agents by passing the connection details of the new SiteBackup server (SiteBackup Server B) to a number of selected agents:
To migrate an agent to a new SiteBackup server, select the 'Agent' page of the SiteManager Platform settings.
Select the agents that will be migrated from the table of connected agents:
Click 'Migrate' to open the 'Agent Migration' wizard.
In the window that opens, enter the connection details for the target SiteBackup server, then clic 'Migrate' to migrate the selected agents to the new SiteBackup server:
If the agent can connect to the new SiteBackup server, it will report the success and connect to the server, the agent will disconnect from the current SiteBackup server.
If the agent(s) can't connect to the new SiteBackup server, they will report a failure and will remain connected to the current SiteBackup server:
Migrating SiteBackup Settings and Configuration
SiteBackup configuration (e.g. definitions, schedules, settings, etc) can be exported from SiteManager Platform and imported into a new SiteManager Platform installation using the 'Configuration Transfer' option in the SiteManager Platform settings, described here.
