Introduction to Macrium SiteDeploy

Overview

Macrium SiteDeploy significantly simplifies the deployment process for organizations, from building thin clients, airport kiosks, or embedded controllers in a manufacturing or operational technology (OT) environment to resetting systems in a classroom computer lab or laptops in an office environment.

Macrium SiteDeploy enables up to 60 parallel deployments per golden image store, reducing the amount of time taken for large-scale deployments.

Ports and System Requirements:

Macrium SiteDeploy can deploy any Windows operating system Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 or above. To create and deploy golden images, SiteDeploy requires the following ports:

Purpose Protocol/Port Number Traffic Direction
WinPE Communication Port  51515 (Configurable) Incoming to server
Web Interface Port 2904 (Configurable) Incoming to server
WinPE Golden Image Store Traffic 445 - SMB Outgoing from agent
Active Directory Integration 368/636 - LDAP (Configurable) Outgoing from server

To deploy a golden image to an endpoint, Macrium SiteDeploy must be able to communicate with the endpoint using a TCP port whilst the computer is booted with the deployment media. As a result, Macrium SiteDeploy will not be able to deploy to a system over a client VPN (since the VPN client won't be running inside Windows PE), however, Macrium SiteDeploy can deploy to remote locations over a site-to-site VPN.
