Licensing Policy Explained
Macrium Reflect X is licensed on a per-computer basis, requiring a separate licensed copy for each computer where Macrium Reflect is installed. This product is offered in three distinct versions: Macrium Reflect Home, for non-commercial use only, Macrium Reflect Workstation, designed for client operating systems such as Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP SP3 in, and Macrium Reflect Server, tailored for server operating systems such as Windows Server 2025, 2022, 2008 R2, and 2003 SP2.
The Macrium Technician's License and Deployment Kit extends the functionality of Macrium Reflect Server with a portable Macrium Reflect application that can be used for backup and recovery of multiple systems and image deployment, respectively.
Licenses for Macrium Reflect can only be transferred to a new computer as a replacement for the original, such as in cases of hardware failure or a planned upgrade. For details on how to migrate a Macrium Reflect X license to a new computer, please refer to this article.
Support
Macrium Reflect X licenses are available on annual plans, ensuring that the license holder is always eligible for the latest major (Macrium Reflect 8 to Macrium Reflect X) and minor (version 10.0.8495 to version 10.0.8576) upgrades.
Annual plan licenses include technical support during the active license period to ensure that help is always available if required. More information about the SLAs and support channels included with Business and Home support is detailed here.
If an annual plan lapses, the software will continue to function in ‘restore-only’ mode. This ensures that you always have access to backup data and the ability to create rescue media to recover from a disaster.
