Introduction

Macrium Reflect LTSC is a stable version of Macrium Reflect designed to provide additional stability in environments where this is a key requirement. Macrium Reflect LTSC does this by providing critical security patches and bug fixes without feature updates that may introduce instability and changes to an otherwise stable environment.

There have been several highly publicized examples of software updates negatively impacting the systems they are running on; coupled with the criticality of backup software and the
prevalence of backup software in operational technology (OT) environments, there is an obvious need for a version of Macrium Reflect with additional stability.

This additional stability gives confidence in OT environments that errant updates won't cause unnecessary downtime and provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) the assurance that the software shipped on their devices will continue to work as expected and tested.

What is included in Macrium Reflect LTSC?

Macrium Reflect LTSC is based on a stable version of Macrium Reflect 8.1. Macrium Reflect 8 was released on the 17th May 2021, with the 8.1 update being released on the 10th January 2023. Since the release, we have continued to finetune Macrium Reflect 8 with bug fixes and security patches to a point where we are confident that Macrium Reflect 8 is a stable foundation for the LTSC edition.

Macrium Reflect LTSC includes critical security patches and bug fix updates for a fixed period of 3 or 5 years (on request) with support as an optional add-on for a 1 or 3 year period.
