Software Update
This section of the 'Reflect Defaults and Settings' is used to control the behavior of Macrium Reflect's update checks.
Option | Description |
Skip update notification for X.X.XXXX | This checkbox is only visible when the current installation of Macrium Reflect is out of date. If checked, Windows toast notifications and the daily update check, when Reflect starts, will be suppressed for the release version in the checkbox text. |
Show a daily Windows notifiction when an update is available | When an update is available, a Windows toast notification will be displayed above the target bar notification area until dismissed or Macrium Reflect is updated. If dismissed, the notification will be cleared for the remainder of the day and then displayed again for subsequent days. |
Send an email for the first notification |
An email notification informing that an update is available will be sent to the recipient list specified here when the first notification is generated. Multiple emails can be entered in a semicolon (;) separated list: email1@domain.com; email2@domain.com This option requires email provider settings to have been configured in the 'Email Settings and Defaults' page. |
Daily check for updates when Macrium Reflect loads | When Macrium Reflect starts for the first time each day, an update check will be performed and display the update download dialog if a newer version of Reflect is found. This only applies when Macrium Reflect is started interactively, and not by scheduled backups. |
Restart Macrium Refect after patching | If the update is supplied as a binary patch rather than a full installer, Macrium Reflect will automatically restart after successful patching. |
The update settings can also be accessed by selecting 'Configure' on the displayed toast notification:
