Reflect LTSC Release Notes

Macrium Reflect LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) is a stable edition of Macrium Reflect, built for OEM partners and mission-critical environments that need a stable, unchanging feature set with security-only updates over a defined servicing period.

This page lists all releases of Macrium Reflect LTSC, including security updates and bug fixes. Use this page to check the latest available version, review what's changed in each release, find previous builds, and get instructions for upgrading.

Getting the installer

  • From release date, the latest builds are available on the Macrium account.
  • Legacy builds are available in the legacy section in the Macrium account.

Installing an update

  • For Macrium Reflect LTSC installations that have an internet connection, the update can be initiated from within Macrium Reflect by selecting the 'Other Tasks' > 'Check for updates...' option.
  • For Macrium Refelct LTSC installations that do not have an internet connection, the latest installer can be run directly over the top of the Macrium Reflect installation interactively or through the command line. License activation, settings, and scheduled backup tasks are retained.

Security Updates - CVE-2025-53395, CVE-2025-53394

  • This update includes a security patch that changes the way Reflect interacts with the Windows Shell. We advise you to install this release to enhance the security of your system.

8.1.8439 - 2025/02/06

Updates

  • Command line install options are now available to install Reflect silently and without a license key. Licensing will be required on first run of Reflect in this configuration
  • Command line options are available for Reflect to set a license key on the command line, if it was previously installed without license

Bug fixes and issue resolution

  • We've resolved an issue that, in rare cases, could cause a crash during restore of split backup image files when shrinking FAT32 partitions.
  • Reflect now correctly prompts for media when backing up to CD/DVD with no media inserted.
  • The Pause button in File and Folder backups is now fully functional.
  • Setup errors related to ThreadManagement.dll have been resolved.
  • Some users encountered repeated "License not registered to this hardware" messages at startup. A resolution is now available — please contact our Support Team for assistance.
